ALEXANDROS KAROZAS
Alexandros Karozas was born in Katerini, at the foot of
Mount Olympus in Greece. He had to leave this wonderful
nature with seven years stowards Germany. The
impressions of his native flowed significantly in his music
of his first LP "Odysseus of the North", but also his next
CDs, "Homage to Cavafy", "The Dream of Icarus" and
"Opus Xenon", bear witness to the desire to bring modern
and traditional elements, inspiration and structure in
accordance.
He participated at the Millennium event at the Victory
Column in Berlin in 2000. Music for a gigantic light show,
directed by Gert Hof (1951-2012) One of his rare and
remarkable performances. He participated in international
productions with artists such as James Brown, Jan
Garbarek, Hossam Ramzy, Joan Faulkner, Richard
Williams, Steven Rodby, the band Oregon and has worked
with many orchestras, including the Vienna Chamber
Orchestra, the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella, the
Deutsche Oper Berlin as well as the excellent choir of the
Vienna Academy of Music. Karozas produced several
operas and symphonic works by Mikis Theodorakis, the
double-CD "Cavafy" from the Vienna Konzerthaus with
George Dalaras, a "Cavafy" CD with the actor Bruno Ganz
and many other records.
His most important work as a composer is music to the
poems of the Greek poet Constantine Cavafy.
Karozas lives in Frankfurt, Istanbul and in Katerini at the
Mount Olympus in Greece.
